73861: Alexander MacLeod
Alexander MacLeod, born in 1826, was the son of Allan Bàn MacLeod and Rebecca MacLeod of Sheabie. Following his father’s death the family moved with his widowed mother to Urgha on Harris, where he worked as an agricultural labourer. He married Marion Morrison at Manish in 1866, and they returned to Berneray, making their home at 15 Ruisgarry (Trealigarry).
Marion and Alexander had twelve children together. Following Alexander’s death, the croft was passed to their son Allan.
