Duncan MacAskill

Duncan MacAskill, born in about 1838, was the son of Kenneth MacAskill and Catherine MacLeod of old Ruisgarry. The family moved to 9 Ruisgarry (Gunhill), which his father obtained in 1850, and later to 11/12 Ruisgarry (Quay).

Duncan became a farmer, and married Effie MacLeod in 1867. They lived as cottars on his father's croft at Quay, where their five children were born. Duncan obtained 7 Borve in 1900.
