Murdo MacAskill
Murdo MacAskill was born in 1907, the youngest son, and the second of that name, born to John MacAskill and Effie MacLeod, cottars on croft 9 Ruisgarry. The year after his birth the family moved to Rhuvanish, where his mother died soon after.
Murdo attended Berneray School between 1914 and 1921, later becoming a seaman. He died of tuberculosis at the age of 24.
