75171: Marion Shaw

Marion was born about 1795, the daughter of Malcolm Shaw and Catherine MacLeod of old Ruisgarry. She married Donald Morrison, with whom she was to have six children. They made their home at Tarabhig in Ruisgarry, in a property now known as Tobhta Mòr ni’ Chaluim. Following Donald’s early death, widowed Marion became a cottar.  Marion was passed 14 Ruisgarry (Trealigarry) from her brother-in-law Murdo Ross in 1854. Approximately ten years later the family moved again, to 17 Ruisgarry (Brusda). Following Marion’s death in 1879, the croft was passed to her son Malcolm.
