Finlay MacInnes married Catherine Morrison of Berneray. They made their home in Berkeley Street, Glasgow with their four children, John, Angus, Rachel and Catherine. Finlay was a police superintendant and his wife’s nephew, the bard Iain Archie MacAskill boarded with the family whilst serving as a constable with the City of Glasgow Police.
