Malcolm MacLeod

Malcolm MacLeod, born in 1911, was the only son of Neil MacLeod and his first wife Kate Effie MacLeod. The family appears to have lived at 5 Borve. Malcolm’s mother passed away in 1919 and his father subsequently remarried, living at 10 Backhill. Malcolm was a pupil at Berneray School between 1918 and 1926, later becoming the school's attendance officer.

He married Jemima MacLeod, from 17 Ruisgarry (Brusda), with whom he was to have three children. In 1954, Malcolm was passed 18 Ruisgarry, also at Brusda, following the death of his aunt Rachel. He was also passed croft 19. Following Malcolm's death in 1998, the crofts were passed to his son.
