75948: Finlay Neil Campbell

Finlay Neil, more usually known simply as Neil, was born in 1906, the son of Malcolm Campbell and Ann MacLeod of Quarry, Backhill. Following his mother’s death in 1906, aunt Christina Campbell stayed at Quarry to help care for him. Later he moved with his aunt to a cottar’s house at 1/2 Ruisgarry (Sandhill). Neil was a pupil at Berneray School between 1912 and 1921.

He later married Mary Morrison and they made their home at Lamerick with their son, who later settled in Inverness.
