90795: Catherine Macdonald

Catherine (1915-1986) was the daughter of John Macdonald and Catherine Macdonald of 1b North Tolsta. She was orphaned on 1st January 1919, when her father drowned in the Iolaire disaster (her mother having died in 1915).

Catherine married Murdo Murray, Seaview, Hill Street, North Tolsta, but it is not known where the couple initially settled and had their nine children.

Around the late 1950s the family purchased the croft at 77 North Tolsta. There was no house at 77 North Tolsta at the time and they built a house called Aird View, Hill Street.

At some point they feued off a section of 77 North Tolsta and settled there at Aird View, Hill Street.
