90845: Donald Murray

Donald (1826-1902) was the son of John Murray and Annie Macdonald; it is not known where the family were living at the time of his birth.

Donald’s mother died in 1826 and his father remarried a few years later; his step mother was Margaret Murray. Donald went on to gain six half siblings.

In 1830 his family obtained 13 Old South Tolsta.

He married Catherine Mackenzie, of 28 Old South Tolsta, but it is not known where the couple initially settled and had their first child: Norman.

In 1851 the family obtained 4a North Tolsta, and had their second child: Bell.

In 1853 the family emigrated to Whitton Township in the Eastern Townships of Quebec.

The couple had a further seven after setting in Quebec; they had nine children in all: five girls and four boys.
