91095: Catherine Macleod

Catherine (1887-1966) was the daughter of Norman Macleod and Christina Maciver of 6 North Tolsta. She married Donald Macmillan of 2 Glen Tolsta and settled there with him. The couple had six children at least five of which were born at 2 Glen Tolsta.

On Wednesday the 16th of March 1921 the Great Gale hit Lewis and their house was destroyed and all their belongings were lost.

In 1922 their daughter Jessie died and the couple went on to name their new daughter, who was born later that year, after her.

The family moved to Bayhead, Stornoway while their children were still young, but it is not clear where their youngest daughter was born.
