Hector (1888-1963) was the son of John Macmillan and Kenina Macleod, of Hill Street South, North Tolsta.
In 1891 the family obtained 2 Glen Tolsta.
Hector married Christina Macleod, of 6 North Tolsta, but it is not clear where the couple initially settled or where their children were born. They had eight children: five girls and three boys.
In 1922 he obtained the tenancy of 45 Gress, in Glen Tolsta, but it is not clear if he ever lived there. He passed this tenancy to his brother, Donald.
At some point they settled at 6 North Tolsta, which passed to Hector from his in-laws. His father-in-law died in 1923 and his mother-in-law in 1949.
Hector was a crofter and a fisherman.
In due course 6 North Tolsta passed to their daughter Jessie.
