Allan (1818-1903) was the son of Murdo Campbell and Mary Macleod. Their address at time of his birth is unknown but by 1820 his father's name is found on the Old South Tolsta Tack sub-tenants list.

In 1830, during the croft lottings, the family obtained 4 Old South Tolsta.

In 1843 his parents obtained 9 Old South Tolsta.

Allan married Mary Macleod, of 10 Old South Tolsta, on the 16th of July 1847.

In 1851, during the croft relottings, they obtained 8 North Tolsta and had their second and third child there.

In 1855 they moved to 34 Newmarket where they had their final two children.
