91257: Archibald Murray Maclean
Archie (1930-2001) was the son of John Maclean and Jessie Bella Murray of Islay Cottage, North Tolsta.
Archie inherited the family business, Tolsta Dairy, which was based at 14/15 North Tolsta. He continued expanding the business and, by 1962, premises that could house 16 cows were completed; more information can be found at North Tolsta District News.
Archie married Effie Macdonald (who died in 2020) of 51 North Tolsta in Glasgow in 1963 and moved to East Kilbride; They had 2 sons and a daughter. Tolsta Dairy was sold to Donald Maciver of 45 North Tolsta and Islay Cottage passed to John Murray.
