Donald (1879-1931) was the son of Alex Nicolson and Catherine Graham of 9 North Tolsta. He married twice; his first wife was Margaret Murray of 29 North Tolsta, and they settled at 9 North Tolsta and had two children together. Donald was widowed in 1911.
His second wife was widow Ann Maciver of 18 North Tolsta; they had three children together.
Donald was a stroke oarsman of team HMS Empress of India, who won the Fleet Race of 1916.
