91318: Mary Macdonald

Mary (1808-1876) was the daughter of John Macdonald and Christina Macleod. The address at the time of her birth is not known, but her father was originally from Ness and her mother from Old South Tolsta Tack.

Her parents inherited 27 Old South Tolsta from her paternal grandparents.

Mary married Angus Maciver of 19 Old South Tolsta. It is not completely certain where the couple had their first four children, but it seems likely it was 19 Old South Tolsta. The couple had five childen between 1833 and 1841.

In 1847 Angus inherited 19 Old South Tolsta and the couple’s daughter Henrietta was born there in 1849.

In the 1851 relotting of crofts they obtained 28 North Tolsta where they had their final child. In total they had six children: four girls and two boys.

In due course 28 North Tolsta passed to their youngest son Donald.
