91386: Mary Maciver

Mary (1823-1906) was the daughter of Evander Maciver and Christina Maclean. The address at the time of her birth is not certain; her paternal grandfather was listed as a subtenant of Old South Tolsta Tack in 1820, while her maternal grandparents were from Gress.

In 1830 the family obtained 3 Old North Tolsta.

On the 18th of January 1846 Mary married George Murray, of 25 Old North Tolsta, and the couple settled at 25 Old North Tolsta and had three children there. Two of them died in 1963.

In 1854, after Old North Tolsta had been decrofted to make way for Tolsta Farm, the family obtained 45 North Tolsta as a newly lotted croft and the couple went on to have a further three children there. The first one of these died in 1963.

In due course 45 North Tolsta passed to their eldest son John.
