91570: Alexander Maciver

Alexander (1872-1947) was a son of Kenneth Maciver and Christina Campbell of 14 North Tolsta.

Alexander married Margaret Morrison, of 2 Habost, and the couple settled at Seaview, Hill Street, North Tolsta. They had two children.

Alexander was widowed in 1903.

In 1913 his father died.

Sometime before 1916 the family moved to 14 North Tolsta and Seaview passed to Murdo Murray.

In 1919 his mother died and, that same year, he had the first of three children with his second wife: Mary Ann Macleod, of 34 North Tolsta. Mary Ann had a daughter, Katag, but it is not known if she remained living with her grandparents. The couple had three children together; three boys.

Near the end of his life Alexander bought the former cottars house at 11 North Tolsta, from Norman Maciver, and 14 North Tolsta passed to their son Torquil.
