91638: Marion Mackay

Marion (born 1847) was the daughter of John Mackay and Jessie Smith of 16 Old North Tolsta.

In 1853, during the croft relottings, the family obtained 16 North Tolsta.

Marion married John Macdonald of 51 North Tolsta. Initially the couple settled with John’s parents at 51 North Tolsta and they had at least two of their children there. The family eventually moved to Marion’s parents croft, 16 North Tolsta, and settled there as cottars.

They had seven children in total.

Their son Donald and his wife Ann settled with them, and had five children, prior to obtaining 6 New Tolsta. John and Marion went with their son and his family to 6 New Tolsta.
