Donald Macdonald
Donald (1881-1954) was the son of John Macdonald and Marion Mackay of 51 North Tolsta.
51 North Tolsta was Donald's parental grandparents croft and the family lived there until they became cottars at 16 North Tolsta.
He joined the Seaforth Militia and served in Cairo during the Boer war.
Donald married twice; his first marriage was to Ann Martin and the couple settled at 16 North Tolsta and had four children. Donald was widowed in 1918.
Donald's second marriage was to Marjory Maclean, she settled with him at 16 North Tolsta and they had one child there.
In 1922 Donald obtained 6 New Tolsta and the family, including his parents, moved to 6 New Tolsta. The couple had a further two children at 6 New Tolsta.
In 1939 he was widowed for a second time. In due course 6 New Tolsta passed to his youngest daughter: Annie.
