91778: Murdo Macdonald

Murdo (1871-1942) was the son of Donald Macdonald and Ann Maciver. The family were very likely cottars at 19 North Tolsta.

In 1882 Murdo’s paternal grandmother died and 19 North Tolsta was split into three crofts, Murdo’s father obtained 19a North Tolsta.

Murdo married Isabella Campbell, of 44 North Tolsta, and the couple settled at 19a North Tolsta. They had no children, but Murdo’s youngest sister Ann lived with them there.

Murdo was widowed in 1925 and his sister died in 1940, so it was at some point after his death in 1942 that 19a North Tolsta was obtained by John Campbell.
