92192: Murdo Maciver

Murdo (1838-1898) was the son of Donald Maciver and Margaret Maciver, of 19/20 Aird Tong.

In 1841 the family moved to 20 Old North Tolsta.

In 1853, after the first tenant emigrated to Whitton, Quebec, the family obtained 26 North Tolsta.

Murdo married Isabella Campbell, of 54 North Tolsta.

In 1869 the couple obtained 69 North Tolsta, as a newly lotted croft and settled there. Their first child was born the same year, it is not certain if this was before or after they obtained 69 North Tolsta. The couple went on to have a further eight children, all of whom were born at 69 North Tolsta.

Their daughter, Ann, and her husband became cottars at 69 North Tolsta before moving to 33 Gress.

In due course 69 North Tolsta passed to their son: John.
