Donald Macleod

Donald (1879-1952) was the son of Kenneth Macleod and Mary Macdonald, of 56 North Tolsta.

He joined the Seaforth Militia and served on garrison duty in Cairo during the Boer War.

He married Margaret Maciver, of 26 North Tolsta, and they settled as cottars at 56 North Tolsta where they had eight children: four boys and four girls.

During World War One Donald served with the Royal Naval Reserves, he was discharged in 1917.

In 1928 the family moved to the newly built 79 Lochside, North Tolsta. In due course this passed to their son, Malcolm.
