92519: Margaret Maciver
Margaret (1849-1933) was the daughter of Angus Maciver and Margaret Murray; the family were cottars at 22 Old South Tolsta.
In 1851, during the croft relottings, the family obtained 33 North Tolsta.
Margaret married John Murray, of 45 North Tolsta, and the couple settled at 45 North Tolsta and had eight children: six boys and two girls.
In 1902, the couple’s third child, John, died in his mid twenties.
On the 1st of January 1919 the couple’s eldest son, Evander, drowned during the Iolaire disaster.
Margaret was widowed in 1927.
In due course 45 North Tolsta passed to their son, George.
