92642: Malcolm Angus Macaskill

Malcolm Angus (1928-1952) was the son of Mr Macaskill and Christina Maclennan, of Detroit.

He joined the American Marines and was killed, while covering the retreat of his platoon across the Imjin River, during the Korean war. He was posthumously awarded the Distinguished service medal for gallantry; this was pinned to his nine month old daughter by a US general. Further details can be found here.
