92677: Annabella Macleod

Annabella (born 1840) was the daughter of Angus Macleod and Annie Maciver, of 10 Old South Tolsta.

In 1843 the family exchanged crofts and settled at 1 Old South Tolsta.

In 1851, during the croft relottings, the family obtained 36 North Tolsta.

Annabella married Alexander Macrae, of 44 North Tolsta, and the couple settled as cottars at 36 North Tolsta. The couple had at least three children there.

In 1876 the family emigrated to the Eastern Townships of Quebec, and a daughter was also born this year, it is not clear if she was born prior to the family emigrating or after.

Over the next few years the family returned to Inverness and then, in the 1880’s returned to Canada to settle in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. They had a further four children over this time, but it is not possible to say where they were born.

In total the couple had nine children: three boys and six girls.
