92716: Margaret Macdonald

Margaret (born 1848) was the daughter of Donald Macdonald and Isabella Maciver, of 6 Old North Tolsta.

In 1853, when Old North Tolsta was decrofted to make way for Tolsta Farm, the family obtained 37 North Tolsta: the previous occupant having emigrated to the Eastern townships of Quebec.

Margaret’s father died in 1871.

In 1873 Margaret emigrated, along with her mother and five of her seven siblings, to Lake Megantic, Canada.

Margaret married a farmer from Milan and settled there with him.

Margaret died young and childless.
