92895: Catherine Macdonald

Catherine (1810-1885) was the daughter of Murdo Macdonald. She is known to have lived either in Back Tack or Old Back, but it is not clear where she was born.

Catherine married Murdo Maciver, of 21 Old South Tolsta, and, in 1834, the couple obtained 8 Old South Tolsta. They had their first child that same year. In total they had seven children: four girls and three boys.

In 1851, during the croft relottings, the family obtained 41 North Tolsta; their final child was born the same year.

Their daughter Mary became a cottar at 41 North Tolsta.

Catherine was widowed in 1872.

In due course 41 North Tolsta passed to their son Alexander.
