Alexander (born 1872) was the son of Alexander Murray and Catherine Murray of Garrabost.

His mother died the year of his birth and his father went on to marry Ann Murray, of 21 Branahuie, the family settled at 21 Branahuie and his two half-siblings were born. In 1875 his half-sister died in infancy. It is not clear if he was still alive for these events.
