94043: John Macleod
John (1863-1904) was the son of Murdo Macleod and Camilla Maclennan; the family were cottars at 60 North Tolsta.
In 1874 they obtained 75 North Tolsta as a newly lotted croft.
John married Margaret Macleod, of 8 Fivepenny, Ness, and the couple settled at 75 North Tolsta. They had three children: all girls. In due course their eldest daughter, Ann, became a cottar on the croft. 75 North Tolsta eventually passed to Murdo Smith.
