95382: Donald Maciver
Donald (1796-1875) was the son of Murdo Maciver and Isabella Macleod; it is not certain where the family were living at the time of his birth. His mother was from Back Tack.
His mother died and his father went on to marry Christina Beaton; the first of his six half-siblings was born in 1809. It is possible that he had already left home by this time. His father cannot be placed in Old South Tolsta Tack until 1820, so it is not certain Donald ever lived there either.
Donald married Catherine Chisholm, of Holm, and the couple settled at 3 East Street, Sandwick.
Sometime later his half-brother, Alexander, also settled at 3 East Street Sandwick; it is not clear if he inherited the croft from Donald or if he settled there as a cottar.
