95502: James Pratice
James Pratice (1852-1888) was a Scot who was the first husband of Elizabeth Henderson; the couple lived in India while he served with the 2nd Battalion Seaforth Highlanders and had three children: a girl and a set of twins but the female twin only lived for 7 days. Their father died 4 months later.
By 1887 his widow had married Angus Murray, of The Isle of Lewis, and had the first of their four children. In 1890 his daughter Elizabeth died.
The family lived in India until 1897; in 1897 they intended to settle in the Isle of Lewis but his widow died on the journey.
