95503: Bruce Henderson Pratice

Bruce Henderson Pratice (1888-1944) was the son of James Pratice and Elizabeth Henderson of India. He was the twin of Jane McArthur Pratice who only lived for seven days.

Bruce’s father died when he was four months old.

In 1889 his mother had married again; she had her first child with her new husband Angus Murray in 1890.

In 1890 Bruce’s sister Elizabeth died.

The family lived in India until 1897, when they set out for the Isle of Lewis, which was Bruce’s stepfather’s parental home. His mother died on the journey.

Although Bruce is believed to have gone to Canada with his step-siblings, he appears to have returned to Scotland, marrying an Isabella Henderson in 1915 and dying childless in Edinburgh. Isabella died in 1973.
