9849: John Mackenzie
John (1833-1914) was the son of Kenneth Mackenzie and Christina Mackay of 7 Keose.
On the 7th of December 1858 John married Marion Munro, of Gleann Tharmoid, Keose Glebe, and the couple settled at 7 Keose and had seven children.
In 1883 the family moved to Keith Street, Stornoway.
John was widowed in 1884.
He remarried to Ann Macdonald, of 36 Back, and settled at 44 Coll. The couple had four children: two boys and two girls. In due course 44 Coll passed to their son, Alexander.
