John Murdo (1905-1967) was a son of Allan Macaskill and Johanna Macmillan, 20 Gravir. In 1923 the family moved to Lake House, Gravir.
John emigrated to Canada on 16 September 1927 and landed at Quebec. He was living with his sister, Margaret Ann in Chicago, in 1930. It is not known when he returned to Lewis.
At Stornoway, in 1941, he married Catherine Mackinnon, 33 Caros, Cromore. John Murdo and Catherine settled at Lake House and they had three children.
