The Silent Weaver

Subtitled The Extraordinary Life and Work of Angus MacPhee, this book by Roger Hutchinson recalls the life of a South Uist man who served with the Lovat Scouts during the Second World War. Unable to cope with military life, he retreated into a private world, spending his time weaving and knitting items from the natural objects around him.

The book also provides an insight into the lives of other Uibhistich who served with the Lovat Scouts.
