Battle of Maida

Battle of Maida

The Battle of Maida, fought on the 4th July 1806 in Calabria, Italy, was one of the battles in the Napoleonic Wars. The British defeated the French.

The Seaforth Highlanders (78th) were involved, and many Lewismen saw action that day. It is said that the only one to lose his life, at least from the Uigeachs involved, was Donald Mackenzie, Pabbay.
