The first tenant of this croft was Donald Macaulay (1817-1889) from Garyvard. The family subsequently emigrated to Canada and Duncan Macaskill Donnachadh Ailein (1785-1870)  from Isle of Taransay took over the tenancy.

The family of Duncan Mackenzie Donnchadh Mhurchaidh (1833-1910) moved to this croft from Crossbost in the 1860s and latterly, Robert Macrae Rob Dhonnchaidh Dhòmhnaill  (1827-2006) moved from 8 Habost to 7 Habost.
