Mary (1838-1904) was a daughter of Alexander Mackenzie and Margaret Macarthur, 8 Old Lemreway. The village was cleared in 1843 and the family were moved to Croft No. 26 Crossbost.
In Lochs, in 1860, she married Duncan Mackenzie, 15 Crossbost. Mary and Duncan initially lived at 26 Crossbost with her parents and later moved to 7 Habost. The couple had ten children.
