Sophia (1904-1988) was a daughter of Malcolm Maciver and Mary Macarthur, Dingwall Barracks. Her father was a soldier with the Seaforth Highlanders.
The family settled at 10 Knock Carloway and later moved to Tayvallich, Knock Carloway.
At Kelvingrove, Glasgow, in 1935, she married William Craig Macdonald. The couple resided in Giffnock, Glasgow and they had two children.
