Mary (1873-1938) was a daughter of John Macarthur and Catherine Macdonald, 21 Knock Carloway.
In Glasgow, in 1896, she married Malcolm Maciver, 10 Knock Carloway. Malcolm was a soldier with the Seaforth Highlanders and the family travelled with him to Valetta in Malta, Fort George, Inverness and Dingwall Barracks. The couple had four children.
Mary and Malcolm lived at 10 Knock Carloway and later moved to Tayvallich, Knock Carloway.
