Mary Macdonald Dempster (1900-1985) was a daughter of Robert Dempster and Mary Macraild, Kinloch Rannoch. The family moved to the Isle of Lewis and initially settled at the Gamekeeper's House at Valmus.  Mary was a Teacher at Seaforth Head School and the family later owned and lived at Seaforth Head Schoolhouse.

At Greenock, in 1928, Mary married Alexander Macdonald.
