Hugh (1825-1900) was a son of Donald Munro and Mary Mackinnon, Eilean Anabaich, Harrris. His father was a Drover and Shepherd and the family also lived at the Shiant Isles, Frith na Hearadh near Cliasmol and the villages of Pairc.
In Harris, in 1852, he married Mary Maclean from Skye. Hugh and Mary settled at Eilean Anabaich and they had eight children.
The family later moved to Tarbert, Harris.
