Duncan John (1898-1954) was a son of Donald Macleod and Annie Macdonald, 5 Lundale.
During The First World War he served in the Merchant Navy (Mercantile Marine) and after the war he joined the Glasgow Police and attained the rank of Inspector.
In Glasgow, in 1924, he married Chirsty Ann Macleod, 37 Cliff. Duncan John and Chirsty Ann lived in Glasgo and they had three children.
In 1952 he married Isabella Ann Bell Ann Mackenzie.
