Christina was a daughter of Norman Macdonald and Catherine Maclean, Crowlista.

She married Donald Matheson from Crowlista. The couple lived at Crowlista where they raised at least nine children.

In 1828 their children emigrated to Canada. Christina was widowed in 1831 and she emigrated to Canada to join her children in Little Narrows, Cape Breton.

She may have been the author of the song An Saighdear Chaluim Bhain, written about her (future) husband while he was serving in the army in Ireland.
