Dolina was a daughter of Donald Macleod and Henrietta Smith, 14 Sheshader. She was a nurse.

In 1915, she married Donald Macdonald, 31 Swordale. Donald was Headmaster at Gravir School in the 1950s and 1960 he moved to Tolsta School.

Dolina and Donald lived in Gravir Schoolhouse and North Tolsta Schoolhouse and they had three children.

In 1971 the family moved to 18 Upper Bayble.
