Donald (1849-1938) was a son of John Macleod and Ann Matheson, 3 Old Lower Barvas.
In 1863 the family emigrated to Canada and settled at Huron Township, Bruce County, Ontario.
At Bruce County, in 1875, he married Ann Matheson, Ontario and formerly of 4 Old Lower Barvas. Donald and Ann moved around Ontario and they had eight children.
Donald's sister, Henrietta married Ann's brother, Kenneth.
