Catriona Iain Dhomhnaill Chaluim
Catherine (1857-1924) was a daughter of John Macdonald and Marion Mackenzie, 41 North Bragar. She was born in Tobson. In 1883 she had a daughter, Christina Mary.
Catherine left Lewis c1884 and at Pollockshields, in 1885, she married John Macdonald from Balephuil, Isle of Tiree. The couple moved to Tiree where they ran a shop out of the family home in Balephuil. Catherine and John had nine children.
The locals described her as a big strapping woman, they thought highly of. Another said she was a hefty kind hearted woman from Stornoway.
