107674: SS Mongolian

The SS Mongolian was a steamship of the Allan Line, built in Glasgow in 1890. Over the next two decades or so it regularly carried passengers across the Atlantic. During the First World War it was requisitioned for use carrying cargo, and it reached the end of its life in 1918 when it was torpedoed by a German submarine.

A video of the vessel leaving the Clyde in 1906 can be viewed on the British Film Institute website.
