Comunn Eachdraidh Cheann a’ Loch (Kinloch Historical Society) was founded in 1983. Its aims are to promote, in the interests of social welfare and education, an active interest in the history, heritage and culture of the Kinloch area of the Isle of Lewis. It is based in the Old School, Balallan, which also houses its museum.
The society was a founding member of the Hebridean Connections project and most of the local genealogy is included in this database. It has also published Gleanings, the genealogy of the area.
