The SS Amakura was a Cargo Steamship built by Caledon Shipbuilding & Engineering Co Ltd, Dundee in 1924 for Booker Bros, McConnell & Co, Liverpool.
On route from Liverpool to Demerara, on August 25, 1942, the SS Amakura was torpedoed and sunk near Port Morant, Jamaica, with the loss of 13 crew.
